Starbucks’ Summer Drinkware Line Leans Into Cold Beverage Demand

Starbucks just released its latest drinkware line for the summer, complete with new color combinations and twists on the releases from the previous year.

Some of the products are ones we’ve seen in the last few seasonal drops, with different color schemes to fit the summery vibe.

For example, the Cold Cups this time come in a light blue, pretty reminiscent of a sunny day or a swimming pool, and also come in multiple sizes. What’s also fun is that it comes with a matching keychain that looks exactly like the cup, so the Starbucks faithful can rep the logo all the time, even after their morning coffee is finished.

One of the new standouts is the Collapsible Water Bottle (24 oz.) The yellow, mint green and light purple bottle has an accordion fold to collapse for easy storage and travel when not in use. With a lot of restaurants, Starbucks included, embracing the idea of customers bringing their own reusable drinkware, this is a smart choice.

And, of course, there’s a big 40 oz. Stanley Quencher.

Starbucks’ official partnership with Stanley was wildly popular, as the “Stanley Cup” was the must-have drinkware accessory of 2024.

This one uses “warm orange and yellow hues of a summer sunset,” acting as sort of a partner to the light blue cold cup or similarly-colored Pastel Blue Vacuum Seal Cold Cup.

It makes sense for Starbucks to lean into the cold cup for summer, as cold brews and iced coffees will gain popularity.

On that note, there’s a new product offered this time around: A Reusable Dome Lid Cold Cup Set.

The pack of five cups looks like the single-use cup you’d see full of whipped cream on top of a Frappuccino, but it’s reusable. Each one has a dome lid, straw, and fun ice-themed designs above the Starbucks logo at the bottom.

From a logo placement and decoration point of view, Starbucks attacks this from multiple angles. Like before, there is the subtle logo placement of the Jewel cups, where the logo is integrated into the cup’s construction itself; and then there are items like the Twist-to-Sip water bottle, where the “Starbucks” lettering features prominently with a vertical imprint along the side.

What Starbucks does here so well is match the demand for frozen and cold drinks for the summer, and offer drinkware items that go along with its plan to phase out single use cups. Paired with the color choices to reflect summer, and you have products that customers will want to buy to update their collection.
